Anne Hastings has worked with Fr. Joseph since 1996. She served as Executive Director of Fonkoze and then CEO of Fonkoze Financial Services, Haiti’s largest microfinance institution, growing it from two volunteer employees to more than 900 staff serving 220,000 clients. During those years, she also brought the Ultra-Poverty Graduation Program to Fonkoze.
After 17 years leading Fonkoze in Haiti, she became the leader of the Microfinance CEO Working Group, where she coordinated Microfinance CEO efforts across ten global networks, impacting 71 million people in 89 countries. Then, she went on to lead the Leadership Collaborative to End Ultra-Poverty, bringing together 40 institutions committed to ending the worst forms of poverty through the Ultra-Poverty Graduation Program.
During that time she also served as Vice President of the University of Fondwa USA, where she is bringing that same commitment to empowering Haitian women and men to become leaders in sustainable rural development through degrees in veterinary medicine, agronomy, and business.
She earned her Ph.D. in public policy from the University of Virginia.
