Rural Haitians are the Beating Heart of the Country. Our Network is Their Voice.
The people of the Father Joseph Network in Haiti are innovative, courageous, heart-centered, and fiercely dedicated to rural resilience. Over four decades, they have created world-class systems for grassroots sustainable development.
At Father Joseph Network USA, we are proud to bring together the leadership teams of four incredible Haitian organizations and their US counterparts.
Peasant association of fondwa
Since 1988, APF--the Asosyasyon Peyizan Fondwa--has supported rural peasant farmers in Fondwa. It has also served as a symbol of rural empowerment and resilience throughout Haiti.
APF members have built a road, a radio station, a microcredit bank, orphanage, medical clinic, and schools in Fondwa; and planted more than 500,000 trees.
The University of Fondwa
The University of Fondwa (UNIF), is Haiti's first rural university, offering 5-year programs in business, veterinary medicine, and agronomy.
Since 2004, the university has been dedicated to supporting rural communities as well as becoming a hub for sustainable, integrated development.

AKESNA Religious Order
These are no ordinary Sisters. Since 1996, the Sisters of St Anthony of Fondwa have been organizing medical clinics, educational opportunities, food, and child care for their village--all while pioneering an innovative labor exchange program for families with no money.
Nine convents across Haiti, forming the AKESNA religious order, are part of Father Joseph Network.
Fonkoze Microfinance
Haiti's largest microcredit lending program started in Fondwa and has since spread to 47 offices serving every department of Haiti.
Fonkoze Foundation and Fonkoze Financial Services have 850 employees, 62,000 loans in the hands of women entrepreneurs, and nearly 200,000 savers.

uFondwa USA
The University of Fondwa, USA Inc. (uFondwa USA) is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
uFondwa USA supports the University of Fondwa (UNIF) in Haiti in its mission to transform rural Haiti by educating and mentoring young Haitian women and men to create economic, environmental and intellectual wealth in communities.
uFondwa USA supports UNIF through financial, material, and technical support for the university's operations in Haiti. It also makes grants to UNIF for capacity building and scholarships; builds relationships with international organizations that collaborate with the university; and supports rural economic development in the area.
We offer donors access to the tax advantages that a US nonprofit organization can provide, while conducting the due diligence in Haiti that donors require and deserve.
Fonkoze USA
Fonkoze USA is a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Fonkoze USA secures financial and technical support for its Haitian partners, Fonkoze Foundation and Fonkoze Financial Services. Fonkoze USA educates the American public about its partners' work in Haiti, facilitates technical assistance, raises money to support their services and programs, and provides due diligence and reporting for donors.
Fonkoze USA also acts as a channel for socially responsible investors who want to invest in Fonkoze Financial Service's loan fund by lending their money at subsidized interest rates.
The vision of the Fonkoze Family is a Haiti where people, standing together, shoulder to shoulder, have pulled themselves out of poverty. Our mission is to work together to provide financial and non-financial services to empower Haitians - primarily women - to lift their families out of poverty.
